I’m back!
Not that I ever went anywhere, I just haven’t written about anything in quite some time. What better thing to write about than anime!
The fall 2019 season has officially kicked off, and I’m pretty excited about it.
So here is all the anime I’m following this season.
Sword Art Online: War of the Underworld
Shocker, right?
I love SAO, so there is no way I’m going to miss the second part of the third season. I’m so hyped for this part of the arc. We had some cool stuff happen in the first part of this season, but that’s nothing compared to what’s to come. This whole arc is basically a war, which is awesome.
We will also get to see more Alice/Asuna rather than Kirito, which is a nice change of pace. A lot of supporting characters make a comeback as well!
The only thing that worries me…is MAL having this listed as 12 episodes. There is no way they can fit as much content as this arc has into 12 episodes! I’m hoping that’s not true.
My Hero Academia Season 4
Here’s the one everyone is stupid excited about. I’m pretty stoked to get a new season, but I’m not fawning over it like the majority of people. I am curious to see how this season goes though.
Will it take a more serious turn? Are we going to deviate from the “good guys always win” pattern that has been the past three seasons?
I guess I’ll find out.
Seven Deadly Sins Season 3
The Seven Deadly Sins is an amazing anime, even if I’m totally lost with how certain things add up. For example, I have no idea how/what Lisbeth is? She’s a re-incarnation, part fairy thing? But…like, how?
Anyway, we all watch this show for the comedy and epic fights. Nothing is more awesome than watching Meliodas kicking some ass. Except..you know, when he got his ass kicked..that wasn’t so awesome.
What does this season hold in store? Who knows! From what I’ve seen, people are pretty indifferent about the animation studio change, but we’ll see.
ORESUKI: Are you the only one who loves me?
I had no idea this one even existed until I watched the first episode over at my brother’s friend’s house. What started off as your typical harem, romance, school anime quickly turned into a dark, comedic surprise.
To summarize, this is your typical harem, romance, school anime, except the main character is basically a side character. It has all of you basic troupes of class president and childhood friend, but they are all in love with the main character’s friend; not him.
It’s pretty entertaining. The dark humour, the fourth wall breaks, it makes for a pretty entertaining show.
Assassin’s Pride
Kirito, is that you?
*cuts and deflects bullets with sword*
Ah, that is you Kirito! You’re an assassin, now? That’s pretty neat. Wait. Why is Asuna a little girl?
My wife and I watched this one together, and I still don’t know how I feel about it because not a whole lot has been explained. One thing is for certain, though. Kirito is the main character and he’s an assassin.
Not actually Kirito, but he looks exactly like him. Then we have this chick that he is supposed to tutor and she looks like a young Asuna. Oh well, guess this is Sword Art Online: Assassin’s Pride.
Joking aside, this one should be interesting. The one fight we saw was pretty gory, then there was that weird fight with scarecrows. I think it would’ve been cooler if assassin Kirito would’ve killed the girl like he was supposed to, that would’ve been dark, but instead he is helping her.
We’ll see, I guess.
Leftovers
Dr. Stone
I’m enjoying Dr. Stone so far. It’s pretty good. The only thing I really dislike about it is that the plot seems to be taking a long time to develop. So far it’s been a pretty much a “hey let’s invent this thing” per episode, ya know?
I still love the story, and characters, so I’m interested to see where it goes.
Fire Force
Along those same lines, I’m waiting for the plot of Fire Force to really get going. We are starting in the right direction now, which is good. My wife and I watch this one together, and we are both still on the edge about it.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a cool story. What gets us is the random and unnecessary fan service, especially from the cat fire chick. Yes, of course there has to be some sort of “cat-girl”.
That’s a wrap
There we go! That’s all of them. I have a bunch of anime racking up in my plan to watch, so I have to get going on that. Maybe…if being an adult would stop taking up so much dang time.
Thanks for nerding out with me.
